What are etched look glass vinyl decals?
Our etched look glass decals are cut from a premium exterior grade adhesive backed sign vinyl with the look of etched or frosted glass.

How long will the last?
The etched look glass decals have 5 to 7 year durability when applied to the exterior surfaces. In most cases they are applied to the interior, which will add many more years to the life of the vinyl.

Are these the decals sold at building supply stores?
No, they are not the static cling decals found at local stores. Our etched look glass decals are adhesive backed and much more durable than static cling decals. Most of our designs are original and will not be found anywhere else.

Are they removable?
Yes, they can be removed by lifting a corner with a razor blade and peeling off like any sticker. However, once removed it cannot be reapplied.

Does it look good from both sides of the glass?
Yes, the etched look glass decals look the same from either side of the glass.

Is there clear vinyl between the etched areas of the design?
No, only the etched areas are visible, unlike static cling decals, so you see only the etched design and the clear glass in between, just like real sandblast etching.

Can designs be modified to suit different tastes?
Yes, we can add or remove elements of most designs and resize to fit your glass or mirror perfectly.

How is it applied?
The etched look glass decals are applied wet with a solution of water and a drop of dish detergent and a plastic squeegee applicator. Complete application instructions are included with each order and posted on the website.

What tools will I need?
Spray bottle with water and a drop of dish soap, plastic squeegee applicator or credit card, utility or exacto knife.

Does Carved Glass Company offer application services?
Yes, we do in our local area (central Florida). Should you need assistance outside of our area a local window tint company might be able to help you.

Can you cut a decal from a photo, drawing or idea that we have?
Yes, we do custom design work and business logos.

What is the difference between regular and reverse etched designs?
Regular etched look glass designs mean the design is etched and the background is clear, reversed etched look glass means the background is frosted to add privacy. The design in reverse etching would either be clear or have a thin outline around it and be etched, depending on the design.
